TheCHANGEproject
Our initiatives are designed by and with the communities they serve. Each program addresses specific health disparities while building long-term community capacity for sustainable change.
These programs are at different stages. Some are running today, some have delivered a first pilot, and some are still in development while we build the partnerships and funding behind them — each is labeled below. For work we have actually delivered, read our impact stories.
A 12-week program we are building to support community-led health innovations targeting specific health disparities. The design pairs expert mentorship and implementation support with seed grants for the strongest ideas, and we are raising the funding to run a first cohort.
Our creative storytelling and media production hub, centering lived experiences of health inequity. We work with community members to tell their own stories and advocate for change.
Research and advocacy connecting community voices directly to policy change at local and state levels, so that lived experience drives evidence-based recommendations. Our chapter has worked on four Colorado policy outcomes to date.
Health screening and resource events in neighborhoods with limited healthcare access, designed by and for the communities they serve. Our first fair reached around 200 students, and we are working toward a recurring schedule.
A leadership development program we are designing for young people aged 16-24 who are passionate about health equity, pairing real-world project work with mentorship. We intend for participants to be compensated, and are securing the funding to make that possible before we open applications.
A partnership model we are developing with barbershops and salons, so they can serve as trusted health information and screening hubs in communities where traditional healthcare feels inaccessible. We are looking for founding partners.
Whether you're looking to partner with us, apply for a program, or learn more about our work, we'd love to hear from you.
